Retail Leasing Agent

Full service retail real estate advisory firm operating throughout the U.S. seeks an experienced leasing agent based in its Manhattan office.  

Position is for an individual who will join a team focused on tenant and landlord representation in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.  The individual must be willing to grow within a dynamic company with a complete focus on servicing the team’s clients’ retail real estate assets. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, driven and organized leasing advisor.   Experience in the real estate industry preferred. 

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  •  Develop follow-up materials for clients (e.g., lease comparisons, market overviews, market presentations, coordinate information with other departments and brokers). 
  • Develop, administer and update and execute a marketing strategy for each property. 
  • Maintain regular contact with tenants and monitor lease expirations 
  • Develop and grow relationships with national, regional and local tenants, as well as tenant brokers, business, civic groups and individuals 
  • Research competitive market information and maintain understanding of market dynamics  
  • Participate in leasing advisory team meetings to update colleagues on leasing activity, market information, new business generating efforts, prospects and market knowledge and trends 
    • Maintain and update various reporting that are required by clients and owners 
  • Perform financial analyses with minimal supervision 
  • Effectively utilize all internal support groups and internal databases to support business 
  • Establish knowledge of the local laws governing landlord/tenant relationships 
  • Prepare basic to intermediate financial analysis  
  • Conduct and oversee mass marketing campaigns  

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • 2-5 years’ experience in real estate.  
  • A college degree in Business Administration preferred.  A major in Real Estate a plus 
  • Communicate tactfully, skillfully, and persuasively to negotiate long-term permanent leases with local, regional and national retailers 
  • Advanced internet research capabilities 
    • Strong computer orientation and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word software is required 
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
    • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners 
    • Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload 
    • Intermediate understanding of real estate fundamentals
